my revisioned final ( last and final final)

Question #8 How do you like having a blog? How has blogging changed the way you write, the way you think, or the way you think about writing?
    • Has blogging had any other effects on your life beyond strictly your "school life"? If so, explain.
    • For the second semester only: Do you plan on continuing to publish writing on your blog this summer, next year, or beyond? If so, what are your writing goals and how will you use your blog in the future?

I would say that my blogging topics have declined in value this semester. Unlike last semester where it was more interesting  to come up with new and exciting topics that everyone could relate to, this semester i feel like
I'm just going through the motions of getting a blog post done. I was not putting any care or emotion into my second semester blog posts. My favorite blog post last semester would probably be goggles and chlorine part 1, and this semester, my favorite is my sacrifice (sorta). From "my sacrifice (sorta)" the only thing that appealed to me was this one quote :

"That same night i had a dream, it wasn't anything special, just me at my house at some sort of party. In the dream i opened up a Dr.pepper and chugged it in a single breathe, after doing so i thought to my self that i wasn't supposed to be drinking this and then i threw down the can, woke up and had to go to morning practice."

I feel like that this quote doesn't have the same level of emotion or description in it's description.

"...half and hour later i emerged from the water and rapped myself in a towel and headed over to my parents wondering what the hell had just happened...

Next thing i know,a man with a straw hat, thick rimmed glasses, and orange hair approached me and said that I had made the team. I was so happy that i was in shock and disbelief. So i asked the man why he had chose me out of all the bigger, stronger, older and more experienced guys. He told me that i was fast for my age, and that they were looking for a more variety of the team that they could mold over the years into the kind of swimmers that they wanted."

This quote compared to the other is great because there is so much description and more emotion in what I'm saying. The reader is better able to imagine what I'm going through. Every time i read this quote i can relive that moment over and over again.

I do plan on blogging during the summer, probably not about anything that special, just stuff like swimming, my job and things that are of importance to me. Next year I'm definitely going to still blog , hopefully more about whats going on in the world or on a thesis and also put up some of my crazy, lucid dreams that i have once in a while. Beyond that,  I'm not not so sure how long i will blog for, but i enjoy expressing myself in written word and will continue to do so hopefully til the end of high school and the beginning of college.

Question #5 If you used any quick writes as blog posts, how did they change from what you wrote by hand in class to what you published on your blog? In other words, how did you go from rough draft to final draft? Explain your revision/rewriting process.

I did use a couple of quick writes as blog posts. On " my sacrifice (sorta) ",   We were asked to write about how our lives would be if we had to give up something important to us for two days. Then we were asked to actually to give up that thing for a week, so i gave up Dr.pepper. In the blog post though, i narrate how my life changes over time and how i feel giving up my favorite drink for a week.

"I had just gotten done with my homework and had ate dinner, it was about six thirty or so and i had a major craving for a soda, i could feel a nice cold Dr.pepper running down my throat. From that moment i realized that giving up soda for a week would be a lot harder than i had anticipated."

When this was all a rough draft,  i wrote down how I thought it would feel. Going from the rough draft to the final wasn't hard at all, it was just imagining my self giving up something to actually giving it up.

Question # 2 Choose one of your posts. (Your favorite? Your least favorite? The one that surprises you the most when you reread it? Any one you want to pick.) Analyze it in detail, with quotes etc. And link to it, of course!

Another of my favorite blog posts this semester would be Valentines day. Its a great discussion topic because there are those who believe that every man in America should be getting his girl something nice to prove to her that he really cares for her, and then there are those who feel completely opposite. In this blog I argued how some people are so artificial with what they do on valentines day, and how they should just be glad that they have that one special person in their life to cherish.

"Its more like how much money you have to try to impress that person. And I'm pretty sure that's not how the HOLIDAY OF LOVE is supposed to work, its a holiday of love, not lust.....Even tho this holiday has been built upon bravado of jewelry, candy, teddy bears, cards, and flowers, I think that their is romanticism for those few who don't want anything else but to spend time with their loved ones. When valentines day comes around, don't freak about getting the most expensive gift in the store, but instead, get the most sentimental one."

My mom was the one who inspired me to write this blog. She freaking hates Valentine's day. She always says how this holiday shouldn't even be a holiday. I personally think that it should, but agree with her in that the true meaning of the holiday is lost in the quest to insanely expensive jewelry or flowers rather than concentrating on expressing what the people you love mean to you.

Monthy review

In the beginning of Maximum Ride : saving the world and other extreme sports, by James Patterson, Max and the flock, including Fang, Nudge, Angel, Gasman, and Iggy, had just escaped a Itex corporation and are now heading toward Texas. Once they get into Texas they start there basic planning, which is to locate a safe area, be aware of any erasers and to get through the day. While in a local park of Texas, the flock is sleeping silently in the tree tops and branches, all except fang, who is on his blog and receives a message from an untraceable source. The message says "The flock has gone bad, one of you is a traitor". Maxes voice comes back and tells her that all of the erasers had been retired and that of the DNA recombinant labs are being found and shut down. As the flock is finding out more about them selves and gain new abilities they also encounter stronger enemies and must take down Ter Borcht and his evil plan. While all this is going on, Max discovers something about herself and she's not going to like it.

Question #3 What are the weaknesses of this book, in your opinion?

As far as the book goes, I think that it is a well written book, but there are some faults that could be fixed. The first problem is that Max, who is the narrator throughout the book, seems a little to childish. Her reaction to some of the situations that she is put in make her seem like that she couldn't be taken seriously as an young adult. In the book, there is one scene where Max and the flock wake up in a white room with no windows and they are all strapped to a medical bed with restraints so that they can't escape. After a while Anne walker, head of Itex and who cared for them  while being under protective custody, walks in and talks with Max. Anne tells her that everything that they have experienced has been all in their minds. Max in complete in her most sarcastic voice says " This is a toally new tack. I truly did not expect that" Pg 118. As Anne goes on trying to convince Max, she snaps " What was the memory of living with you supposed to test?" "How I would react to a two-faced control freak who didn't have a maternal bone in her whole body?" Pg 119. After a coupe of days being at the school Ter borcht decides that there existence is meaningless and decides to kill them. Max and the flock  re all caged up in a single Cage, waiting for their death. Max and Ter Borch are talking , and he's going on about his plan to annihilate the worlds population by half in an effort to eliminate all sickness and anything weak and to leave nothing but the strong, smart and those who surpass all others. After his sch-peel, Max sais "And if you look in a dictionary under 'delusional megalomaniac' you'll see your picture" Pg 154. It just seems like in a serious situation when your about to die, you shouldn't be laughing in the face of death. One other small fault that Ive noticed at the end of each two page chapter, is that the last paragraph has a lot of drama toward the end. ITs not that i dont like it, but if your going to have that much drama toward the end of one two page chapter than the chapters should be longer so that the drama can build up to something.

Question#8   Pick a character that interested you and write about them in depth. You can also analyze a relationship between two different characters.

Out of all of the relationships there have been so far in this book, the one that interested me the most is with Ari and Max. Usually their relationship has been mortal enemies, but this time they aren't, theyre more of allies in this book. While Max was confined to her one room bed and restrained to her bead, Ari had been told to take Max out on a tour of the school, where they talked alot, none of what they said had been close to being anything threatening. While they were talking, Ari had revealed that all the recombinant DNA experiments have an exportation date. That included Ari, Max and the flock. While they were talking about how he had died and came back and talked about the expiration date, Ari has a sad tone when he talks, he seems almost as if he's trying to reach out to Max and ask for her help to get him out and just rescue him. After Ter borcht had told the flock to say their goodbyes, Angel comes up from behind with Ari and says " Good-Bye" with a steel cold stern voice and then he falls, Ari then busts the flock out. They all fly toward the woods and hide for a long time, after they make a temporary camp, Max bluntly asks him if whats he's doing is a trap. He sais no and then sais " No. I know that theres no hope for me, but a part of me hopes that you can escape". Afterwords Max and the flock have a discussion to keep him or get rid of him. You have a giant wolf man whos tried to kill Max mulitiple times and has also injured Fang twice and making him come close to death. Half of the flock wants to keep him and the others want him gone, so Fang takes Iggy and Gasman and they head to California. So now its Max, Nudge and Angel along with Ari. I feel pretty Bad for him, He was just a seven year old kid who didn't want to do this and now he's turned into what looks like a bad rag doll that's been stitched over and over again. And now the only thing he wants is Max's help.

Lit letter 3

As we come to an end toward our book, Max and the others have been captured by ter brocht and they give them a series of test to see if they are worthy enough to survive the by-half plan. The by-half plan is to reduce the world by half but the only ones who are allowed to survive are those who are smart, strong, or have some sort of special thing about them, sound kind of like hitler? Ari who is with ter brocht, is told to give Max some tours basically, they tour around and Ari tells Max that everyone has an expiration date, and you wont be able to tell when until it appears on the back of your neck. there was one chapter when they were interviewing them to see i they had adapted any new abilities, and of course they are all being uncooperative, and nudge says " i can eat nine snickers in one sitting" pg 139. After the interview tor berch goes on some rampage saying how they will not survive the plan and then he leaves, then Gazzy says " I vil destroy de snicka bars !" mocking ter borch with his creepy exact mimicry of people, which i thought was kind of funny.

When Max and the others escape, Max decides that they should head toward Europe and destroy the Itex cooperates over there. When they find the Itex cooperation in London, MAxs voice appears talking about the hydra and saying how when you cut one head two more come back in its place, so he tells Max "The Hydra itself must be destroyed, Max, THe whole thing at once. This is just one head. Find the body and kill it" pg 219.I like this just because its brings some mythology into present times, and kind of tells us what Max needs to do to prevail and win.

Our final blog.......

So this is our last blog post, and for some reason i don't really feel like doing anything special for this one. Frankly I'm quite tired, hot, irritated, and sick as hell. There are a couple of things tho that i feel i want to say but I'm not sure if I'm going to get through all of them. For starters it was a good year and i hope that the next two following years will be just as good and fun. I did a lot better academically this year than i had done last year so that was a pretty good accomplishment for me this year. I'm a little worried for next year tho, junior year is supposed to me the most stressful of them all. That's when everything matters out of all your years. So I'm going to have to actually try and might have to do my homework so that i don't sink like i did toward the end of water polo season. If you do sink its kind of hard to maintain everything while trying to pull yourself back up, so next year i wont do that.

One thing that I'm pretty concerned about, is the parcel tax. If that dose not pass, then most of us are pretty screwed. I know for a fact that swim and water polo are going to be cut. I heard a hell of a lot of our schools sports are going to be cut. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do if it does get cut. I'm probably going to have to join my coaches U.S.A team until the summer time comes around and then go back during the school season. Not to mention that theres going to be hella students over at out school. I'm pretty sure that the government doesn't want measure e to pass, if they did then they wouldn't have had a mail in poll instead of booth. Most people are going to be UN aware of the fact that its going to be mailed in, and we only one by thirty votes last time, so you better get your parents to vote yes on measure e.

I'm so juiced for summer, we basically have one week left. One week of actual school and then a week of testing which is only for half the day, and then we are out for a nice long two and a half months. I'm really excited, I'm going to be working at Wood minster theatre and getting my drivers license and going to Washington D.C to visit. And i have my summer league, witch i have my first meet tomorrow, getting to see all my old friends and hang out with them for the day. I'm probably not going to be in Alameda at all this summer, so I'm not going to see anyone, oh well.

It seems like our lives are starting to move at a much faster pace than i would like. Its like eating a really good dish, but not having enough time to savor its flavor.

As for the rules of love, i pearsonal...

As for the rules of love, i pearsonaly dont believe that there should be any, its your life so do what you want, but unfortunately thats not how it works. There are never any spoken rules but there are a shit load of "unspoken" rules. The unspoken rules are a bunch of crap rules that are implied as soon as you join a group of friends or a clique. I think that the one rule that everyone knows is that if a guys and a girl are dating, and she breaks up with him, but he still has feelings for her, than any other guys is not allowed to ask her out. but if he breaks up with her than he is allowed to ask her out, but he might not want to for a couple of weeks just because there is all that break up drama if they had been going out for a while.

Whene people say "nice guys" and "nice girls", theyre referring to those people who beleive in good safe fun and they wont break any rules. Im not sure if a nice guy or girl would kiss on the first date. im not sure if thats actually something that really matters. But they definetly would stay out all night, they would probally be home by a ceartian querfue for bed or dinner. Another thing a good guy or girl would not do is have sex until they are married, they are supposed to wait until they are married and stay pure virgins until that time comes.

these rules are first placed when we are in our infancy stage when we still think that the opposite sex has "cutties" and then it progresses over time. The next step from there is that guys make some sort of pack in their lives that no girl will become friends, or the bros before hos rule, and then as when start getting up to high school, more and more rules are placed, creating the unspoken rules.

yay i have a new way to sign off on my blog post

i really hate being sick, its so boring. Im stuck at home with nothing to do, i cant do my homework until i get school loop and that dosen't come out till around five o' clock. The only thing i can do right now is my blog post and my lit letter. Being sick, there is no bright side to it, even if you have a day off, you have to make up everything that you missed from the previous day, or if your me you have to make up everything that you missed from the last two previous days. Im listening to itunes right now while im doing this and i need some new music, dose anyone have any good music, I dont care on the genre as long as it has a good melody or beat to follow. Who caught glee last night? That show is really the shit, I hella thought that santana and the other girl were gonna go at it. I was a little dissapointed tho, because you only got to see sue once, and i like it when her and will talk shit to each other.

On another note, who's ready for summer vacation? we have thirty days left! And the week before the last i believe is finals, and then the last week we dont aaaannnnnnyyyyttttthhhhhhiiiinnnnggggg, at all. Im hella looking forward to summer, im working at Woodminster Theatre witch i did last year and i made some money so i thought that it would be a good idea if i worked some more shows and earn more money. And im going to get me permit online so i can start driving around and then after that im gonna wait till i can get my liscense. Im also going to be doing my summer swim league, witch will be pretty cool. And i think im heading up to washington state for a week or two. The only thing that im the least bit concerned about is getting sunburned. White people like me burn hella easily. At the beggining of polo season, it was eight a.m and we were in the big pool doing some laps after we got our polo portion out of the way, and just from doing that i got burned, just from going to practice, thats kind of sad.

Sutherland, if you get this, something that you should do for a quick write is for us to say what we would do if the parcel tax did not pass. There are alot of us who are in sports, even mutliple sports. I have no idea what i would do if the parcel tax din't pass. I probally would have to find a new school probally, and that not even joking, i might have to move to San Leandro High and swim there. That or find another local team that i could swim with until my summer league. But what about all the other people who are in like football or baseball. Im not aware of any local teams for them, so where would they go? There would be alot more kids out on the streets till later times probally. And more kids to get hooked on drugs probally. But thats if the parcel tax dose not pass, and its not looking so well right now.

So we are now starting the nex book i...

So we are now starting the next book in the series of maximum ride, Maximum ride: saving the world and other extreme sports, by James Patterson. Max had just escaped Itex and her evil clone eraser, and they are now looking for more itex branches and are out to destroy them. In the begening Max and the others are in tree tops in a local park with everyone asleep except Fang who is reading his blog and then he recieves a message saying " One of you is a traitor, the flock has gone bad" (pg 18). But who could possibly be a traitor, Iggy's blind, nudge i dont think would, gazzy and angel are way to young, Max is the leader, the only logical answer for me is Fang, but he recieved the message so how could he?

While in Dallas, Fang makes the executive choice to go to a football game. Natrually, Max is on high alert, worrying about erasers, being spotted, some getting kidnapped, etc. Max pulls over Fang and asks him why he is questioning her authority and Fang says that instead of worrying about the erasers finding, that they'll find the erasers instead: "then we'll know where the tornado is" (pg 21). After being exposed on national television and through out the internet, Fang suggests to the flock that they quit running and find a perminent home. Max says that they need to continue to save the world and to defeat itex once and for all. After discussing it in front of the flock, Max gives in and goes with fang to go and find somewhere to live. While out and about, Max and Fang still argue and she dives down in the sky lands and cries. Now Fang being the natural pimp he is, lifts up her chin : Max says "What the heck are you doing" and Fang replies " changing your mind" and then he kisses her. Wow i really did not see that coming at all. I wonder if they are going to hook up at all.

my sacrifice (sorta)

On Monday, Mr.Sutherland gave us a quick write to see how life would be if we had to give up something for two days. Everyone thought that two days was to easy so he bumped it up to a week. He told that  those of us who were commited enought should give that particular thing and try to go with out it for a week. So I thought that i should try and give up soda for a whole week.and see if that works out and see how my body would be able to handle the change and from there try to move my goal gradually up to just not drinking soda at all.I thought that this would be a legit item for me to give up seeing how i drink excessive amouunts of Dr.pepper a day.

After lunch on Monday of May third, i gave up my soda. That evening i had just gotten done with my homework and had ate dinner, it was about six thirty or so and i had a mayjor craving for a soda, i could feel a nice cold dr.pepper running down my throat. From that moment i realized that givin up soda for a week would be alot harder than i had anticipated.he same night i had a dream, it wasnt anything special, just me at my house at some sort of party. In the dream i opened up a dr.pepper and chunged it in a single breathe, after doin so i thought to my self that i was'nt supposed to be drinking this and then i threw down the can, woke up and had to go to morning practice.

On May fourth after practice, my dad had driven me and my brother home, my mom took my little brother to practice and I was home alone. Generally i spend a good amount of time on the computer, and whats in that same room? All of my soda, theres even a can or so in the fridge. I thought that i could easily just take one and just throw the can outside so that no one would know. But then when my week is up, that woulnt be a true accomplishment. so i just grabbed a glass of water and drank that instead, but it wasnt satisfying enough, it felt like eating tofu, you can down alot of it and still feel empty.

I did manage to find a temorary alternative, tea. Not hime made iced tea, or hot tea, but those quick pack that you dump in water and then shake it. Im not so sure how heathy they are for you, but its a hell of alot better than drinking soda that has anywhere from 100-200 calories. My mom haded me an ice cream bar the other day and it only had 70! thats pretty cool. So when i do go to lunch today and they ask me what i want to drink, i have to get a water and mix it with my packet and have my instant tea. but on the bright side i got everything else thats not a soda, like juice, slushies and whole bunch of stuff. Even better, i only have four more days.

Monthly review

Q#7 If you've read other books in this same genre, how does this one compare?
Q#8Pick a character that interested you and write about them in depth.

In the novel Maximum Ride: Schools Out Forever, by James Patterson, the novel continues with Max and her flock head toward Washington D.C. to try and find answers about there past that they have no memory of.After had just escaping the clutches of the "school" the group is ambushed by Ari, who has rose from the dead, with his gang of flying erasers. After witch they must head to the hospital where there worst dreams had been realized, there secret has been discovered and is now open to the security agencies. Unlike the previous book , Maximum Ride : The Angel Experiment, the story is seen through both Max and Ari's perspective, so that we can peak in on the plot of the book and also learn of Ari's hidden feelings for Max, and how he wants to have max for himself and try to get her to stay with him. Along their way, Max and the others must be brought under protective custody by the F.B.I under custody of Anne where they must stay at her house and live there. As they spend more and more time with her, they come to like and think of Anne as their new parent like figure, Anne even files for an adoption for them. They then later get enrolled at a private school. While at the school, trying to fit in and get a feel for it, Max and Fang Find love with their new class mates. While at the school, snooping about is Iggy and Gasman, who find old news articles on there school and its corrupted ways. Along the way Max, gains an incredible new power. Meanwhile the cooperation, Itex plans to destroy the world and who to be the leader of the cooperation, Anne surprisingly,  someone with access to the F.B.I and the leader of Itex. With their goal in mind, Max and the others head toward Itex to destroy the cooperation from the inside.

In the previous book , Maximum ride :The Angel Experiment, Max had been the main character. But this time the two characters who stood out the most to me was Fang and Ari. In the previous book he was just this quite character who had stood in the corner and never talked, just gave the occasional nod or smile toward Max to confirm or deny something. But this time he was pretty social, He even started his own blog in the Book called Fang's blog, Witch turned out to be a real blog on blogger.com. If you want to go check it out then here you go. Its pretty cool how he actually talks like Fang inside of the book on his blog. In the book Fang stirs up things between himself and Max romantically. In the last book, Max had kissed Fang thinking that he was going to die on the beach after being mauled by Ari and a group of erasers. So now they have UN resolved issues. And Fang wants to get closer to Max and become and item with her, unfortunately Max dose not feel that way about him. Another weird love angel is coming from Ari. Ari and Max have always been arch enemies in this book, and now he's going to go and ruin that by wanting to be with her. The plot of the book is to capture Max and replace her with a look alike eraser Max and destroy the flock. Once Jeb and Ari had gotten a hold of Max they would kill her, but Jeb has no interest in that, so Ari was going to keep Max caged up and try to get her to like him. There are so many reasons why that is wrong, one is that Max is double the age of Ari, even tho he looks like a completely grown man. Another thing is that, that kind of sounds like what a rapist would do. Luckily, Max's flock can tell when something is up with her, and they expose her for the fake that she is. Ari's plan doesn't work out so well either, Max escapes and confronts the fake Max. After the epic battle between the two, Jeb tells Max to kill the copy because she is obsolete, and yet Max dose not. She spares the copy and flies away after destroying Itex.Kind of a weird love triangle?

Another book that i am currently reading is The contest, by Matthew Reilly. This book is filled with action and excitement throughout the whole book. Steven Swain is a leading doctor at a hospital, where a month ago gang members had come in trying to kill and opposing gang member. Instinctively, he fights the gang members punching one in the face severely and wrestling the other one for a gun. While the two wrestle for the gun, the gun discharges a shot into the members head and is killed. One evening Swain is at his house with his daughter holly and a ring around him is formed where he is teleported into a dark room, which turns out to be the public library. Before him appears a man in white named Selexin, who is his guide in the presidian, which is a fight to the death arena. Now Swain cannot escape the arena, and if he dose he has fifteen minutes to get back in, if he dose not, the watch on his wrist will detonate and kill him. Along the way he encounters big and strong aliens and meets a companion or two along the way to help him fight off the strongest contestant of them all, Bellos, with his previous generations winning three of the seven presidian. Bellos has cheated by bringing his hoods, dog like aliens, with him to eliminate the other contestants and the kranadon, the strongest alien beast in the universe, tall as twenty feet and the strength of thirty men.

lit letter 3

After Max and the flock had just escaped the school and all the corrupted teachers who turned out to be erasers. Max and the others had just flew off from the school and then max went flew off into her waprdrive speed and ended up at a beach, she then tried digging at her arm, in an atempt to reach the chip inside of her and destroy it. As the Fang arrived at the scene with max, a glass shard and a bloody arm, he stops her attempt to destroy the chip. The Flock then calms max dwon from her saddness and they hang out at teh beach, where angel learns that she can talk to fish. Which is kind of weird seeing and avion talking to a fish, it almost seems contradicting in a way.

Behind the scenes, Ari and Jeb are start there plan to replace Max and destroy the flock with a exact looking replica of Max who is a eraser. And as this goes on Ari cant wait to Get his hands on her, Because secretly he loves her and wants to be with her. Ari has some weird thing for max, even tho Max is double his age.

Max and the others discover that the main body of this orginization is a group called itex. Once learning so they fligh over to flroida and get and appartment, then max is abductted and is replaced with the new max. Later two of them confront eachother where they have a big showdown and the victor is of course our one and lovely original max. Jeb then comes to max and tells her how she had overcome someon even greater than her and a bunch of other shit and then i believe she punches him in the face if im not mistaken. and then they fligh off.

spring break

I realize that probably a lot of people are going to be doing this but Im going to blog about spring break. Over the break i was supposed to be at hell weak practice for my swim team, the hardest week of them all, but instead decided to take mis girlfriend and her daughter with my brother and I to Yosemite Park. It took a good four hours to get there, i was asleep most of the way there so it was'nt as long as it was supposed to be. As soon as we got into Oakhurst, the town we stayed at, we checked into our rooms and then drove up to the park. Even before we got to the park itself, there was snow everywhere, i was so excited just to jump out of the car and nail my brother with a snow ball to his dome. It took about and hour to drive into the park, and as soon as we got out, we saw this pretty cool waterfall, i cant remember what the name of it was tho. After that we drom around for a while and then drove back to the hotel. And that was the end of day one.

The day afterwords we headed back and got out to do a couple of things that we had not had a chance to do. Such as, a snowball war. We went to this big open field still covered in snow and just threw a bunch of snow balls. My Brother teamed up with my dads girlfriends daughter, lily, and they attacked me! so i tackled ben to the snow. we then had lunch and i went back out. After i was completely done with playing in the snow, i was completely drenched in water from all my shenanigans , playing in the snow and what not. So i had to change into a pair of my dad pj's and a shirt of his and ride back like that. And we made a pit stop so i had to walk a good ten yards or more to a bathroom, where everyone could see me in those clothes. So then we got home and hung out there and then went home the next morning.

When we returned to Alameda i had to go to Friday hell week practice. and then i went to my moms house for the weekend, where i had to cut ivy off the side of my hose and paint. And it sucked because i had just got this new game that i had wanted, but right before i got it, my xbox got a E74 error message so i have to get myself a new one so i can play some cool new games that i have been waiting for awhile now. Hopely for my Birthday i can get one, if im lucky, or at least enough money so i can buy a new one. and then play all day every day! And what i mean is only on the weekend -.-

so in the beginning of our new book, ...

so in the beginning of our new book, Maximum ride : Schools Out Forever, Max and the flock had just escaped the school and are now are on there way to Washington D.C. On there way, they run into a group of an erasers with wings! not only are they strong but now air mobile. And who else to be in that group? Ari! witch is weird, since he died in New York. Like completely died. So after that fight, Fang gets this major wound in the side of him, bad enough that they had to go to a hospital, witch might just give away the fact to the doctors that this boy has a set of wings on his back. So then the doctors call in Max and she describes everything to the doctors, leading to her donating fang A butt load of blood since he can't take human blood. And then for the cherry of all events, the F.B.I come in to talk to them and get a possible lead on the guys who run the school and the institute. After their interrigations, Anne, member of the f.b.i. takes into her house for protective custody. Later after had having time to hang out at Anne's house,  Anne lets the flock know that they are going to be enrolled in a school, witch is pretty hilarious seeing how they are kind of mis-fitts who have not been to school one in there lives. While at Annes house. Max gets the ability to fly fives times as fast, so like a super boost of hers, allowing her to fly up to three hundred miles per hour. which is pretty cool, not as much as angel, but still pretty cool.

While at school, Max and Fang both have these love interest which in doing so they both get jealous of one another, earlier in the chapter, Fang falls for Max and She dosent do anything about it, not a date or talk or anything. While at teh school, the headmaster has in it for all of the kids, he thinks of them as nothing as trouble makers, even tho they hardly do anything. While Iggy and Gasman are snooping around, since they think the headmaster has it in for them, they head down to the basement out of curiosity. And find all theses files on the school and how it was closed down along time ago. And after that one of the teachers come to try and kill them. Actually kill them! So what does iggy do? what he's great at, making bombs. SO he sets of this big bomb. Later the headmaster calls in Max and he tries to kill her, She puches him and they all bust out of there. Most of the teachers turn out to be erasers. Jeb, Anne and ari show up at teh school and Jeb reveals the fact that Anne is one the people help run the whitecoats and such. Who wouldve thought that Anne, one of the nicest characters of this book to be on the side with the white coats. Im pretty dissapointed in her. And so they all just dash for the woods and just keep running and running, without a destination in mind, just so long as that it isn't near the erasers.

What do you guys think is going to happen next. I think that Max is going to head to where one of there parents are and try to locate them so that they have some sort of protection and a shelter for them to get back on there feet. let me know on my blog please.

Monthly review

Question #2
For what audience(s) is this book intended, and how can you tell? (In other words, for whom would you recommend this book?)

It is kind of hard to narrow this book down to a single set of age group. I would have to say that this book is for anyone from the age of twelve to mid thirties. This book is full of adventure and action, fantasy, and tons of imagination, and has one great plot. About six kids who have been genetically altered to be able to flight, and be stronger, and faster. Kids who are twelve can start to comprehend the plot and understand whats is going on, and to the age of mid thirties for an older group of adults, because a majority of adults at that age might start to loose their creativeness and lose interest in the book as a result. This book would probally most attract kids my age because of all the imagination that it contains. In this book, there is a lot of flying, who doesn't like to dream about being able to fly? If i could fly, there is no way in hell anyone would ever see me again. There is also these men that can morph into werewolf type things, called erasers, these are the henchman of the villain of our story. There is also a little bit of romanticism to the book as well, some young teen love, which is a another good contributor to my argument that this book is mainly for children from the ages twelve and higher. So if you happen to be talking to one of your friends about a book, hit them up with this one, its great, and it comes in a series so that they'll be reading this book for a while, if you liked the harry potter series, then you'll definitely fall into this book within the first couple of chapters.

Question #4
How would you describe the author's style of writing? What's your opinion of the style?

James Patterson, author of Maximum Ride, writes this book almost as he's painting the scene of where the story is taking place with so much depth. As my group and I read through this book, there was so much description in each of the scenes that he had written. The opening chapter was the narrator who is also the main character, saying how her and her family lived on an L shaped building high up on a mountain that couln't be seen from anywhere, almost as like there house was there own personal haven from the outside house. Another section of the book, near chapter forty-two, is when Max saves a girl from these bullies who have a gun, Max runs from them after knocking one of them out with one punch. The narration from Max running was just tremendous narration, James Patterson describes the scene as if he were running from the guys with the gun, constantly being shot, with a shot shoulder. Besides the Maximum ride series I know that James Patterson also writes murderer mystery novels, i cant imagine how well his description is those books are. Overall , I find James Patterson's writing completely superb. When my group and I continue the next book in this series, I hope for the same kind of visual experience that I received from this book. I would definitely recommend this book for the fact that it is such a great book to get addicted to.Flying! i still cant get over that fact, I don't know how he is able to pretend that he has the ability to fly, and he even writes down realistic speeds for flying and heights as well. Being able to write something as good as that, requires a lot of time and creativity.

Question #8
Pick a character that interested you and write about them in depth.

Another hard question to only talk about one individual, so I'm going to have to cheat this question a little bit and narrow it down to two people. Both Fang and Max interested me quite a bit. Max of course because she is the main character of this story, the title is named after her existence signifying that shes that important. And the other would have to be Fang. The only description i know that they gave Max is the fact that shes fourteen. I imagined her as a taller girl, skinny, long curly-dirty blond hair. Her character itself to me symbolizes some sort of justice figure. Where as Fang is described as a tall shadowy type figure, with dark hair and with dark wings. I don't think that he is evil or anything, just that kind of person who likes to keep everything bottled up. He and Max hardly talk, he kind of just gives her a look to signify either an approval or decline on what they are going to do next. I think that if we could actually peak into Fang's mind, and see everything coming his perspective, that the book would be a lot more interesting. The main reason why i chose these two characters was because Max and Fang are basically complete opposites. We have Max who is the a radiant type of girl who takes charge of the flock and is running everything, where as Fang is keep to himself kind of guy, taking no responsibility over the flock, only when he is actually needed then he helps. Such as when there is a fight, he can take maybe two or three erasers, so when the time is needed he comes and helps out the flock. But at the same time, Max needs Fang to coexist, there is this aura from fang that makes it so that Max is in a perfect balance so that she can make wise decisisons. I also find it very interesting that we hear nothing of his personal life or about where he came from, where for everyone else, your given a rough guess as to where they came from. .

last letter

Finally we can talk about the end of our book. Just to recap tho, Max and the flock are now in New York looking for the institute. And Max has that voice in her head, kind of pointing her in the right direction of where she should be going. The voice had told Max to get on the bus and to hop off when it looks fun. And then they come up to a toy store, and Angel finds this teddy bear that she wants to have, and Max sais that its too much. Out of no some person just buys the doll for her, because Angel "influenced" them, buy forcing thoughts into their head to control them, which is awsome, getting anyone to do what you want. While walking down the streets of New York, the flock wins a free makeover, and they decide to take it because with the erasers constantly tracking them, Max thinks that their new looks will make them un-noticiable.

The flock then goes to the beach and Angel of course has the ability to breathe underwater. They then get into this big fight with the erasers, and then Jeb comes to stop the fight and refers to Max's situation as a game, and how that the beauty of the game is that no one else has experienced what Max has. After they have that encounterment with Jeb, they head to the institute and go find data about them selves. Mudge gains this ability to know stuff about people just by touching them, she can know everything about them. They then escape threw the tunnels of new york, and max confronts Ari in their last battle. In this their last battle, max ends up dropping ari from the top of the tunnel, and breaking ari's neck, killing him.

If you could give yourself any power ...

If you could give yourself any power what would it be? I would probaly take the powers of the Green Lantern. The ability to conjure anything from your ring at your will. Imagine not having any of your normal day stuff things with you, just you, your clothes, and that awsome ring. You wake up on a Friday morning and its seven fifty, Oh no what do i do? Not to worry i'll just FLY myself to school within a minute. Now that your at school and you are situated, its lunch time and some bullies come over to you and try to mugg you, now what? Well you have some good options, make a forcefield ( like i do everday of my life) and block them so they cant do anything, or you can just punch them with a giant sized green latern fist. This is why the Green Lantern is such a beast, he cant be stopped. Sinestro , the main villian, alredy tried to fight him using the yellow element ring, and failed miserebly to Hal Jordan. I dare you to try and beat him, he's got many more powers than what i've listed, and i mean MANY MORE.

If you could make up your own superpower, what would it be? Thats kind of hard, theres not alot of super powers to choose from left is there? Id probally take the ability to remake anything at my own will. Im not sure if theres a super hero who can do that, if there is go ahead and leave the name of that superheroe. But being able to touch something and turn it into whaever you want would be prety cool. Kind of like alchemist, but at the same time i wouldn't have to obey the law of equivalent exchange, nothing can be created from nothing , you must give up something of equal value, plus theres a bunch of science behind that. If im at home, just change my whole house into a transformer, no reason, just chillin with my house, or even just clean it like that. There are alot of endless posibilities to that kind of power. I could turn Mr.Sutherland into Chuck Norris if I felt like it. If you had that power, and could only do one thing with it, what would you do? Thats kind of a one wish type question, you could give earth a whole bunch of brand new natural resources, and then we would probally be out of national debt. Supernatural powers having a healing effect on our economy, thats all we could really ask for.

And who is your favorite superhero, we all clearely know that the green lantern is god and cannot be beaten by anyone, but if you had to choose who would it be? Or supervillian for that matter. Best superhero or best villian. If i had to choose it would probally be Venom, even tho he requires a host, he gives his host the ability of super strength, and speed. He might not be the strongest of vilians but he is one of the coolest.

Group reading letter deux

Im happy that Max finally decided to get the hell out of Ella's house and go and save Angel. Iggy and Gasman flight and meet up with Max who heading on her way to Arizona to meet up with Nudge and Fang in Arizona. And then they jack some guys credit card and take some of his money, then steal a car and drive to death valley, California. I don't get why they steal a car, they flight a lot faster then they do drive. Then they get captured and taken to the "School" and are hopeless. Max and Jeb come face to face, even tho Max thinks he died, and he tells her that she was created to save the world. If i was in her shoes, i would think how the hell is a fifteen year old girl supposed to save the entire human race? They then bust out and fight bunch of erasers and fly away. The only thing i dont like about hat area of the story is that no one got mayjorly hurt, It would make sense tho, its supposed to be one of the biggest and most umbeliveable rescues, and not even one of them got a mayjor injurie.

When they discover that there is a bunch of  information on then in New York in a place called the Institute. They decide to head over and check it out. One thing that irritating me is who that voice inside of Maxes head is, in the book she says that she cant identify the voice, not a gender or how old. And it just came out of nowhere, Out of the blue as soon as they got to New York and were wondering where to go to begin their search for the institute. SO you guys are going to have to tell me who you think the voice is. I dont think that it would be Angel because she can identify her voice. Maybe someone we have'nt met yet?

ASHLAND!

So this weekend I'm going to be hanging out in San Leandro, so I'm not going to be able to hang out with people but on the bright side, as much as this makes me sound like a dork, I'm going to play the hell out of my new game Fable II, I'm so hooked onto it. And I have to wash cars on Saturday from nine till twelve, so if anyone needs a cheap and good quality car wash, come anytime between nine a.m. till three p.m.  and that same day I'm supposed to be having a St.Patrick day party at my house with family, witch should be interesting, depending on who cooks. And wile this is all going on my Little brother, Ben, is heading up to Ashland,Oregon for the Shakespeare festival. Where they get to stay at South Oregon University.

I remember when i went to the festival in eighth grade. It was a great trip, we leave on Friday morning exactly when school starts, its about an six to eight hour drive, including food and rest stops, and then on your first day when you get there, you get your room key's, food passes, and all the rules, then you head to your room and unpack. There is such a great view if you just step outside, of mount Shasta, the top of it should be covered in snow. From that point everyone is so happy that they're no where near home, and so they all run around, going threw every possible room and just hanging around, the first night you don't do much, you just see one play. Over the next couple of days you go and take a couple of tours, and see a total of three shows.  I remember seeing The Clay Cart, A Midsummer Nights dream and i cant seem to recall the last play.

Our chaperone's were pretty lenient with what we did, we were able to walk around the campus all we want, walk down the hill to go and get Starbucks or walk down to the market and pick up all the junk food you wanted. The best thing about the dorm was we had a mini fridge to store all that junk food. We were also able to stay up till like one in the morning, but we could not go up to see the girls pass a certain cerfue During the course of each day,i believe there was either one or two theatrical classes that we had to go to, that took place on the campus. And then after that Everyone would split up and head there own separate ways. After one of the tours we went on,our teacher took us to a nearby Major tow, and for some reason i cant remember what city it was, but he gave us two hours of free time to go and shop and eat.

I my brother has as much fun as i did when i went up for the festival

In our book, Maximum Ride by James Patterson, the things so far that i have liked, is when Ari first appears when the flock are out and the flock instantaneously break into a fight with erasers. When Max is fighting some erasers and Ari comes over to her and says " don't recognize me? Well i guess i have done some growing" (pg12). that line for some reason gives me chills and for some reason its just overall a great evil character line to say. To me that line itself is like Ari is assuming his authority over Max and is trying to tell her that He has surpasses her and is better in every single way possible. Another thing i love about this book is that James Patterson writes this book with so much description of the fighting scenes and of the physical traits of characters. I also like how he does first person point of view internally and externally of the character, seeing how the main character is girl, and the author is male, it is amazing how he can put himself in the shoes of a fifteen year old girl.

As amazing as this book is, there are some parts that could be improved more or so than i dislike them, such as when Max shot by the guys bullying Ella, and then Max ends up going to Ella's house and staying there, I realize that shes injured and all but she stays there from like chapter twenty or so and doesn't leave till forty-one i think. In between those chapters nothing much happens, its kind of just like an intermission time of the story before the action starts to pick up again. One other thing that would be help full in this storey is if the author would give us some facial physical traits, just so that when I'm reading the book i can grasp what they look like when they fight and when they are bloody, so i can imagine what they look like.

I'm so juiced to read more of this book, as a matter of fact I'm going to read more.

PIE

This week i was supposed to have a total of three swim meets, the first against Arryo high school, then against Albony High school, and last but not least the alumni meet. On Tuesday we crushed Arryo with a ending score of ninety-four to sixty-eight, for those of you who dont know, thats a pretty big stretch in points. Unfortunately, i dint drop any time off my best, so i was a little dissapointed in myself, so hopefully i'll be able to drop atleast a little bit of time. And that meet wont be till this Saturday, because apparently Albony has a new coach and he dint get the meet memo, i've heard that excuse so many times from previous games or meets, and its pretty irritating. And for some reason this excuse is only used in the teams that are the worst in our league, i wonder why that is?

So instead of our team having a long two hour practice, we get to swim for a while and than race each other for times. I'm not nervous about anything, just as long as i can drop some time off my freestyle, WHICH IM TRYING SO HARD TO DO!, my current tim is a twenty-six point one, if my coach happends to put me in the fifty freestyle than i know i can drop it down to a twenty five by the end of this week! If i can , i can possibly do it today in practice today.I just dont want to race against someone like jarred thompson or curtis fong, because they have hella low times for their fifty free's, but then again, it might cause me to want to catch me up to them and cause me to go faster.AAAGHHHH just me thinking about it wants me to go faster so that i can start to cach up to the record time.

So now on Saturday is my last meet, its a really fun and long meet tho. We get to see all of the Alumni swimmers who hold the records on our record board, which is hanging up in the in the swim center office for everyone to see. The record for the fifty free i think is a twenty one point eight, so i have a couple of years to drop down to that time by the end of my senior year. So on saturday we get to rave against the guys of our team who use to be the best of the best, and we even get to race a couple of our coaches, and teachers and our principal. Yep, mr.rodd, and principal janivier are going to be racing this saturday against us. The meet in genreal is cool tho, we get to hanf out with the alumni, have some good food afterwards, and then go home and hang out for the rest of the weekend. After that im probally do nothing on saturday and on Sunday go to my dads girlfriends house and eat dinner over there.

MAGIC!

this weekend, im really pumped for it, because on friday we have our first meet for alameda swim league. We are swiming against de la sal high school out in concord. We are definetly going to lose, but its not going to matter because there a team whos not in our league. Even tho this is going to be a loss, i think it will give us a good measure for where a skills lye currently and what goal we should aim for, for the end of the season. Ive already made my goals, my only priority is to get my 50 freestyle down to twenty-four seconds to about twenty-three that's not the biggest leap, seeing how my freestyle currently is a twenty-six point one, POINT ONE! I dont think you guys realize what that looks like, it looks close to this ------> (26.1), so close to a twenty-five, and i also want to drop my hundred freestyle down somewhere between a fifty-nine to a fifty eight, hopefully somewhere between those to places so that i have more room to improve. Besides just those two races, im just focused im just focused on dropping time for any other even So even if i lose my race, all i care is about how much i improved or how much i haven't. Its really great for me also because i get out of class early, on a Friday! could i ask for much more? The perfect begining to a great weekend.

At the beggining of the week my mom had told me that we were supposed to go see the San Jose sharks play this weekend, so i looked up the day, and theres no game. She said to me " o yeah, its supposed to be in march." She was a whole month off. I was really looking forward to see my friends from elementary school, its cool getting to see how people have changed over the years. Ive done this trip before, what happends is that the parents have a big barbeque and then they chip in for a travel bus to come get us and take us to the game.
Im also planning on going to see Alice in Wonderland on Saturday. Im not completely sure what its about, all i caught is that the red queen is trying to take over wonderland, and the white queen is trying to nock her off a couple of pegs. The madhatter, played by Johnny Depp, is awsome, he has the perfect amount of insanity for me, enough to the point where its funny but not crossing the line into more of the Joker status. And my mom just literally told me that im going to see a play, something about a latina girl and her family, o well, sounds decent enough to go and check out. I feel kinda let down for this post, just because i had nothing else to talk about. but since sutherland told us to start putting labels i guess this one could go under swimming, weekend plans and maybe a couple other things.

memoir prohect

CRISIS OF FAITH.

Before I started my first years at Will C. Wood middle school and moved my way up to Alameda High, I had gone to a private school in San Lorenzo. The school I attended was Calvary Lutheran. We had just about all the same classes as all regular middle schools do, and we even went back and forth between teachers just like any other middle school-er. But in our schedule we had a class called religion. We would just whip out a bible and our teacher would make us turn to one of the beginning proverbs that told of one of Jesus's stories. We would then read about half of the story and then go home. It wasn't just all reading, we also had test on the new and old testament and had bible races, where the proverb would be written on the board and the fastest person to find the proverb would stand up and read it. I remember that on Wednesday's we would have to go to chapel and sit threw a service,we had a huge wooden cross right in the middle of the end of the room, and of course we did the Ren-enactment of the birth of Jesus. After that, we would return to class and continue our schedule. Week after week i started to think of what i was being taught had been true or just a lie. Would there really be white pearly gates, and in front i would be judged on my actions. Sometimes i had wondered what it would be like to float up to heaven, with a halo and a pair of wings, I had thought that god lived on top of clouds and looked down upon us and watched over each and every single one of us, like a hawk tracking its prey.

I did not start to question the ideals of the bible till I got to fifth grade. That's where I had started to take stories of the bible and try to break them with pure logic. One of my first questionings was the story of Noah and the ark. The story says that there were only one pair of every single animal on the ark, one male and female so that they could re-populate. In Genesis 6:1 it says that Noah had started to build the ark when he was five-hundred years old. Five hundred! He entered the ark when he was six-hundred years old. Of course there is so many flaws in this story to make me not want to believe in the story of Noah and the Ark. By the physical capabilities of a grown adult man, that is physically impossible, and how is there enough food for all the animals and for Noah's family to last forty days and forty nights? And it wasn't just the bible i used common sense on to convince myself if things were true or not. When I was five I had asked my mom if Santa really exists. She asked " why dint you think he exists?" and I replied" I don't know" and she told me "no". Just my nature to question brought me the truth of Santa. So I started asking my self more and more questions on the birth of Jesus and if earth was really created in only seven days?

After starting to question the teachings of the bible, when I wet to church on Wednesdays, and sung the hymnals, I started to feel a guilt creep upon me, just something that dint feel right. It felt as tho god had been watching me and he felt really disappointed in me, it had felt as tho I had committed a crime and got away with it, and now i had to bear such an immense guilt. Days soon passed and became weeks, and soon i unwarily just went through the motion of religion class. Just reading the scripture, reading, not actually sucking in the meaning or value of the story. One day i went home and asked my mom if she believed in the stories of the bible, knowing that she brought up by the christian faith just like i was. had said " I don't necessarily believe in the stories like Moses freeing the people of god from Egypt", " But i do believe in the overall idea of the bible". With that i was even more confused of what to think of it. I sat for a while and came to my conclusion that I have to listen to the teachings of the Bible, and that's up to me whether i believe in it or not.

Neli, maybe you just made me look stupid, so i should be mad at y

This long four day weekend that we last had was Valentines day and Chinese New Year. On Friday I dint do a dam thing, just a nice and relaxing day of nothing. Saturday I went out to a G.N.C. (general nutrition center, just for tho's of you who don't know) and got this insanely big container of protein powder, so that after my workout my muscles have access to the protein that i put into my system. So now after my morning practice, i just just mix the powder with some water or milk, than go to school. The first time when i took it, i felt really tired and unbalanced. I went to go talk to my coach and he told me that inducing that much protein into my system is like eating two steaks. So hopefully my body will adapt to it so that my body will become more strong and so i can swim better

On the same day, My mom, her boyfriend, and my brother and i went to San Fransisco. We headed to north beach and went to the restaurant, Cal-zones. I got bored while waiting for food, so i decided to play a ratio game, the ratio was obese people to people who look like hookers. While i pointed these people out, my mom was having a hard time from laughing. Afterwards we went to the theatre, i cant recall the name of the place. We got there pretty close to curtain call timing so we dint have to wait very long. While watching the performance, the actors and actresses had such amazing voices, they dint have much scene changes nor were they very big, I was surprised that they only used chairs and tables when doing a scene change. So overall the play was really good. Sunday i dint do anything, and then on Monday i made crepes for my french class, it was so hard to flip the crepe. I must've burned myself over ten times, i tried to use my fingers to flip it. An now its the begging of a new week for school, and progress reports are coming out at the end of the week, but I'm not so worried.

Is kind of strange to be thinking of ...

Is kind of strange to be thinking of summer this early in the school year? Last year was one of my favorite ones so far. Lately Ive just had some of tho's memories keep popping up in my mind. Just of my swim team in San Leandro and just laying out in the sun all day. Fun, Just being able to bask in the heat of the radiant sun. Every Saturday morning i have to be at a meet by six-thirty to seven o' clock, so everything is still all damp, wet and cold. So after my warm-up i get out and its freezing, but as soon as it gets later in the day, the sun pops up and everything starts to become nice and warm with a nice cool breeze in the air. Not to mention , there is  summer love in the air. Who doesn't like to have a crush, hook up or fall in love with someone during the summer time? Its kind of like valentines day, but only its everyday for three months.

Last year i also had an internship up in the Oakland hills at a theatre called Wood minster Theatre. There were a total of three shows during the summer, i only was able to do one of them. I thought that my muscles and body were going to fall apart by time i got home. Surprisingly it wasn't all that hard, its was surprisingly easy, just because this production only had mainly a lot of HUGE sized props. After each show, i came home and slept from twelve till seven. It was a tiring job but that's what made it so much fun. my plan this coming summer is to do all of the productions so that i can earn my self a little bit of money for a car.

Valentines day.

So its two weeks before valentines day and some of my friends are freaking out and have no idea what to do. The other day i asked my mom if shes a little excited for valentines day and she tells me that she hates valentines day and thinks it is a stupid holiday where we're forced to show our affection to that significant person in our lives. So after I heard her point of view of valentines day, i go and ask my troubled friends why they are freaking out about what to get. And i already new what they would say, they would told me its because they have to impress "their girl". And what if they don't want some insanely big gift, but instead just want to be with you? And instead of a dozen roses, why not just one, the number of roses dose not represent how much you love that person. Its more like how much money you have to try to impress that person. And I'm pretty sure that's not how the HOLIDAY OF LOVE is supposed to work, its a holiday of love, not lust.

In my mind i see valentines day as new relationships, roses and candy, when it SHOULD be about spending time with the one who you love and to cherish their existence. Even tho this holiday has been built upon bravado of jewelry, candy, teddy bears, cards, and flowers, I think that their is romanticism for those few who don't want anything else but to spend time with their loved ones. When valentines day comes around, don't freak about getting the most expensive gift in the store, but instead, get the most sentimental one. And for those twenty to fifty dollar bouquet of roses, just get her one, Its a lot more meaningful than a dozen, At least in my mind it is =)

TIFFINAY OWES ME CANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ow, im sore

In today's worlds, everyone has touch screen i-pod and internet access on their phones. But why do we need such technological advances for our daily life? When I walk down the street I see stupid teens being carefree of whats going on around them. They walk into traffic without realizing that there is a car heading straight for them and it cant stop, another teen killed by lack of attention and technology. It could also be caused by the driver. Just some random guy or girl out walking, following all the signs and traffic rules. But down the street is a buissness man, late for work, drinking his coffee, with his phone in his hand, because he dosent have a headset. He ( or she) is speeding just to barely punch there card in time, and out of nowhere the teen is walking in a cross walk, and the buissness man does not notice them. He then i sued and goes to jail. I dont think that all technology is bad, just to advanced of tecnology is. There is also good in it, i-pods are good for blocking out all external sound and leaving nothing but your internal thoughts for you to focus on. Cell phones are also a great help in and emergency.

Before cell Phones, we would have to run to the nearest house with a phone, or run down to the police station or fire departement to get assistence. SO i believe we could turn back a couple of notches on our technoligy, what harm could it do. Im pretty sure that if everyone had a basic i-pod and cell phone we would all live just fine, and if you cant live without getting e-mail on your phone then your just crossing over into the robotic phase of life, one who never goes out, does sports, complains about nature and cant live without texting someone for one period of class.

English Final version 2.0

Q#8 How do you like having a blog? How has blogging changed the way you write, the way you think, or the way you think about writing?

When we were introduced to making a blog, i thought, OK this could be interesting. So how do i like having a blog? I really enjoy it. I'm not crazed and blog twenty-four seven, but i like putting my opinion there for people to listen to. It was a good idea for not just me, but I'm pretty sure most of the people in fourth period to relieve some creative thoughts as opposed to bottling it up,Who knows? We might have our next revolutionary thinker sitting right next to us. I got so into blogging because I couldn't wait to post it, I just thought that they were such good topics to blog about. My post, fat man inside , I really felt strong to this topic. The next day when walking through the hallways, people had told me that they liked it.

Now when its a Wednesday afternoon, I don't think, oh great another assignment, I think, sweet another chance for me to voice what I think is going on in the world or whats just even whats going on in my own town. Even though Ive been blogging for a short amount of time, when I think of a new topic I try to think of something that will cause others to blog about it, too. Topics that people strongly believe in, such as the the war that's currently going on , or even some celebrity news are great topics to blog about. Even though I don't have much to say to these kind of topics, other people might have a detailed conversation in their head, just ready to explode with facts and gossip.

Q#2 Choose one of your posts. (Your favorite? Your least favorite? The one that surprises you the most when you reread it? Any one you want to pick.) Analyze it in detail, with quotes etc.

Out of all my blogs so far, my favorite has probably been THE POWER OF DREAMS. I particularly like this one because, dreams to me can show more to us then we realize. I see the future, even if its nothing all that special, if its just me and my friends sitting down and talking. In a dream you have control of everything, Ive had some of the most unreal dreams where I've flown over buildings and have swam in a pool of sharks. To me dreams are more than a fabrication based on our daily activities, its more like our own personalized inner world. in each dream there is a message that has to be deciphered, if its a bad dream then generally the day before, you either did something that you knew you weren't supposed to or did something being unaware of what you did. As you can see i can keep going on with this topics for hours and hours. That's why this is my favorite post, something to talk on and on about. My least favorite post this semester would probably be o well. Its just more like a filler blog. Kind of like water or bread, its just there in your stomach, taking up space so that you get more full easier. All I did was talk about was currently happening in my world, which isn't all that great. Hopefully next year I'll refrain from doing that. The blog the most surprises me is The Illusion of night. i like this blog, but there's a quote "There's some thing that makes love just a little more romantic as opposed to day. No one knows why, it just does. And when I look up to the sky and look to the moon and stars, it feels like there's something bigger than us, more than what we as a planet know about space, something out there". When i re-read this quote i think, Oh god did i really put this in my blog? It gives me goose bumps, because i felt like a dork posting up that cheesy line.

Q#10 Where do you get your ideas for blog post topics? What inspires you to write?

Ideas don't just hit you like a bolt of lightning, at least they rarely will. But for the most part, people will look at blogs, form a question from that and then blog about that question and their views on it. Others will write their ideas down and choose one of them to write about. As for my method, I just think and try to retain them for me it tells me what ideas are good, if they stay my head then it means to me they're good ideas, if i don't retain my idea, then its not an idea worth holding onto.
I try to think of them when I get a chance to, such as when I'm at swim practice. Even though I'm surrounded by ten to fifteen people, when your swimming you have no contact with them. When I'm swimming it feels like a chilled bottomless abyss, the perfect place not to lose focus on ideas. Some of the ideas for my blogs such as "Goggles and chlorine" and "Morning meal", came to my head at practice.Goggles and chlorine, I thought while swimming because I had been swimming and thought about how much easier practice had been and thought about how i used to swim back when i was younger as opposed to how I swim now. Morning meal came to me because I had forgotten to bring something to eat for morning practice, so while I was in the pool I had thought what to do, and asked myself what do I usually eat in the morning.
Music is another big idea starter. If your listening to a song, it does not matter what emotion is triggered. I link an emotion to an issue then that to a topic and that becomes my blog. For me the artist i listen to are generally cake, the barenaked ladies, rise against, and then a whole bunch of Japanese music. My post " 10 fingered ghost " which I named for no reason, had come to me when I had been listening to music right before a game and it just hit me, what do the upperclassman of our team listen to? I thought of our biggest and toughest guy on our team listening to some girlie stuff, just to tickle my amusement.

my thoughts on writing groups

As for them writing groups we have to do, there's nothing really in particular that i would like to do, i don't believe i need to hold my group member's hand and watch over them. but if they want me to take a look at what they are writing about than I'm OK with that, but for our group i would like for us to brain storm and come to a consensus on what we are going to write about. For my contributions? I willing to help out in any way possible that i can do, such as proofreading, seeing if the overall topic makes sense, and give constructive criticism. The only thing i don't feel is necessary is the part for commenting on blogs. the person is going to be right next me during the time they are typing or i could just go find the person and tell them in person what i think of they're post. Last but not least, the organization of our groups. I think they should be with our friends, just because we'll eventually get talking and have one topic where were all going to have these stories that link together, and then possibly come up with a question for that topic. as if we were to write in a group that was all writing on the same thing, then you (Mr Sutherland) would know what those people are going to be writing about.

But if we had the choice on not writing in groups, i probally would, just cause i dont feel like writing in groups
